Website Team Interns

The Odyssey: World Trek for Service and Education, a San Francisco based non-profit, is currently seeking four Website Team Interns, 10-15 hours per week, beginning Feb. 17, 1998, with a special orientation retreat Saturday, Feb. 14.

The Odyssey is an interactive global excursion scheduled to begin July, 1998. More than one million students will be linked to The Odyssey World Trek Team - 10 volunteers traveling around the world for two years working with various grassroots organizations. Teachers will be provided on-line curriculum to help students learn about diverse cultures of the world, explore current global issues, and discover ways to affect positive change in the world.

Web Team Intern Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain The Odyssey's three websites
    - information site, student site and teacher site

Qualifications Desired:

  • Sincere commitment to promoting global education and cultural understanding
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and computer skills a plus
  • Previous web experience helpful- HTML, ftp, PhotoShop
