The Mid-continent Regional Educational Laboratory has created a compendium of 116 national- and state-level documents that address standards and benchmarks in various subject domains. The result is 255 standards and their accompanying 3,968 benchmarks.

The Odyssey's primary focus for the World Trek is World History and Geography, but we also consult the standards for World Literature, Foreign Language, Art, Civics, Life Skills, US History, and Health. The standards we identify and cover are listed in the "Teachers Guide" for each region. (The Teachers Guides are explained next in the orientation.)
