Mexico Trek!   Basecamp Trivia: September 2 Answers Return to Basecamp

Trivia!
The Answer:
C is probably the best answer, but if you have to root for one of the gods, you'd best choose A, Quetzalcoatl. Tezcatlipoca actually drove Quetzalcoatl off and killed all the people of Tula!

Trivia! The Answer: Be careful with this one! The trick is that the Aztecs thought that their great god Quetzalcoatl had returned, but it was really a man from the far-off country of Spain, Hernan Cortes, who wanted to conquer them. How could they think he was a god? Read the team update on "The Return of a God!" So in this case the best answer is probably B! (Ok, if you don't want to kill him, at least scare him away!)

Trivia!

The Answer:
A) Spain - but she has family in Cuba.
Trivia!

The Answer:
C) Huitziopochtli is the god of war and he guarded the Aztecs as they traveled and told them to look for the eagle eating the snake on top of the cactus. Tlaloc is the god of rain, Leonardo is the god of... of... well, you decide. Quetzalcoatl is the god of learning as well as of the wind. He plays a big role in the updates today so remember his name!
Trivia!

The Answer:
C, even though today the lakes are totally filled in and Mexico City covers where they used to be. Because the city was built on the lake, each year the buildings sink a little bit more. So now when there are earthquakes they are devastating, like the one in 1985 that Liliana refers to in today's update!
