Thoughts on making it in life - 8/15/98
We visited Covenant House, and tears came to my eyes when our guide told us about some of the struggles their clients face and how he learned to treat every individual as an individual. Tio gave some good advice: he said that everyone makes mistakes, and no one is perfect. He thinks that if someone drops out, parties and is just hanging out without accomplishing anything for 3 years, and they end up 17 and with no job or no school, that's no reason to quit. Everyone hangs out, and if you're 16 or 17, well, you have your whole life ahead of you. You just have to work hard for a few years and no one is going to hold anything against you. And that's the truth!
