In this week's update, Klaus and Jamila continue their grand tour of Mayan ruins by visiting Labna, Xlapak, Sayil, Kabah and Uxmal, which are all centered around Mérida in the Yucatán, a peninsula in Mexico. They also tour the famous ruins at Tulum, which sit right on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, and other ruins nearby at Cobá. They will soon make their way to more ruins at Tikal and Copán.



Monica writes of her strange encounter with the Mayan god Maximón in Panajachel, a small city on Lago de Atitlán, a large lake in southwestern Guatemala. Panajechel is not far from Concepcion, Monica's home for the next few weeks.
