What does Jamila think of the World Trek? (video)

Who did you grow up with? My mother, Phyllis, the most loving person in the world, my brother, Canyon, who can always make you laugh, and my two cats Midnight and Blanca. I also spent a lot of time living with my father, Bill, who is the worldās friendliest person.

What do you like to do with your friends? Reminisce about our college years, eat, dance, go to the movies, and hike.

What is your favorite food? Tough one, I have so many! I love jerk chicken, gumbo, yams, greens, tempura, calamari, shark, corn bread, Thai fish cakes, carne asada, pupusas, plantains, peach cobbler and anything made with avacados!

What are you afraid of? Without multicultural awareness, communities around the globe will continue to lack understanding of one another.

What are some really fun things youāve done? Whitewater kayaking, water skiing, snorkeling, mountain biking and salsa dancing. My most adventerous times have come from traveling. Iāve had the most fun in a unfamiliar places exploring and meeting new people.

Whatās the most stupid thing youāve ever done? Lose my passport one day before leaving Sweden to go to Finland. Luckily someone had found it in a deparment store and turned it in to the US Embassy.

What is your advice for young people today? Donāt be afraid to question. Take something positive away from everything that you experience in life.

Who or what has had an especially strong influence on the direction of your life? My mother has taught me to look at life objectively. My father has taught me to always look at the brighter side of life even when the chips are down.
