World Trek Team Application

The following are some general guidelines for applying to the World Trek Team and an application. However, The Odyssey World Trek Team of ten is nearly completed. If you are interested in applying, we recommend that you submit a resume before investing time in completing the application. We will notify you if we think it is worth your while to go ahead.

Application

The success of The Odyssey depends on the talent, initiative, vision, and energy of a wide range of people. The 10 team members on the trek may be the highest profile. But the whole team will be far greater than that.

The entire team will be selecting from among the applicants based on some very concrete criteria that apply directly to your potential success with The Odyssey and what you would bring to The Odyssey.

For the trek team these include your general background, areas of interest, experience in the outdoors and abroad, experience with service work, etc. You must, of course, be in good health. You must be over 21 years of age, and we cannot accept minors accompanying an adult. If you are applying with someone else, please understand that we must consider each application individually.

Then there will be some more subjective criteria such as personality and how well you would fit in with the group and work in the kind of environment that the Odyssey will entail. Two years of traveling with ten people under such challenging and constantly changing conditions will obviously spawn their own challenges in the group dynamics department.

We can't stress enough our interest in having a diverse group professionally, ethnically, religiously, linguistically, age-wise, sexual orientation-wise, gender -wise etc.
