PANASONIC DIGITAL CONCEPTS CENTER JOINS THE ODYSSEY TO BRING INTERNET VIDEO FROM AROUND THE WORLD INTO CLASSROOMS

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - August 10, 1999 - San Francisco, Ca - The Odyssey announced today a partnership with the Panasonic Digital Concepts Center that will allow The Odyssey to provide regular video and audio on its website. The PDCC has donated the digital video equipment The Odyssey's World Trek Team will use in its efforts to promote global awareness among youth.

The World Trek Team consists of 5 educators selected from over 1900 applicants worldwide. In their travels they explore history and experience new cultures and document their findings on the web for students, kindergarten through high school, who experience the world trek virtually from their classes. The free program is designed to raise global among youth and promote their involvement in creating positive change in the world.

"The video and audio Panasonic Digital Concepts Center is making possible will qualitatively enhance the experience of the youth as they learn about the richness of cultures and landscapes the World Trek Team documents."

The Panasonic Digital Concepts Center (PDCC) incubates and grows technologies and services that provide value for the next generation of networked consumers. Drawing on Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd's (MEI) rich consumer electronics heritage and the Panasonic brand name, PDCC brings a consumer sensibility to Silicon Valley technology innovations.
