Development Department Interns

The Odyssey: World Trek for Service and Education, a San Francisco based non- profit, is currently seeking four interns, 5-10 hours per week.

The Odyssey is an interactive global excursion scheduled to begin July, 1998. More than one million students will be linked to The Odyssey World Trek Team - 10 volunteers traveling around the world for two years working with grassroots organizations. Teachers will be provided on-line curriculum to help students learn about diverse cultures of the world, explore current global issues, and discover ways to affect positive social change.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a donor database of potential donors
  • Coordinate fund raising events
  • Research in-kind donations
  • Develop funding proposals
  • Support publicity efforts

Qualifications Desired:

  • Sincere commitment to promoting global education and cultural understanding
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and computer skills a plus
  • Previous development or public relations experience helpful
