Here are more questions the students from Grove Primary
School asked us.
During Christmas, in all the movies, they always have snow and
pine trees in the house and dogs running around, and lots of
presents. Is that really true over there? Because here it's always
hot during Christmas. Do you eat a lot of Chinese food? What other
kinds of food do you eat?
Do you have Guy Fawkes Day? (Note: Guy Fawkes Day, observed in
England and in many former English colonies on November 5th every
year, commemorates a failed attempt to blow up England's Houses of
Parliament in 1605. Angry with King James I, a group of
conspirators, led by Guy Fawkes, rolled 36 barrels of gunpowder
under Parliament. They were caught and executed, and the event is
celebrated today with fireworks and bonfires.)
What is Independence Day? Is that like Guy Fawkes Day?
What languages do you speak?
Why do you celebrate Thanksgiving?
